why get a tattoo on my head?

I have alopecia, an immune system disorder where your immune system attacks your hair follicles and causes the hair to fall out. This disease affects different people in different ways. Some people lose small patches of hair, some lose all of the hair on their heads and some lose all of the hair on their entire body. Sometimes the hair grows back. The progress and results of this disease are very unpredictable. I love tattoos and wanted to make a statement about my disease. I want to raise awareness about this disease and I want to send a message to people with alopecia. I will not let this disease control me. I do not have to hide my bald head, nor do I have to be ashamed of it. The folks at Miami Ink were very gracious and willing to help me get my message out. I hope that my message comes through. If any of my antics can help someone else in some small way, then I have accomplished my mission.
